The full music production workflow: create → arrange → mix → export → share.
• Create beats, melodies, chords, and original sounds using GarageBand on iPad
• Experiment with real instruments for sampling and creative sound design
• Gain proficiency with age-appropriate production skills through guided builds and choice-based challenges
• Export and share a finished track at the end of each block (plus participate in optional showcase)
How It Works
1) Choose a 4-week block
Rhythm, Melody, Harmony, Mixing, Composition, or
Performing.
2) Reserve your spot
Enrollment is confirmed once payment or charter approval is received. Spaces are limited to 10 students per block.
3) Come ready to create
All production materials are provided. Students arrive ready to learn, collaborate, and make music.
4) Take home the finished work
Families receive exported audio at the end of the block, plus a brief summary of skills covered.
5) Enjoy the showcase
At the end of the term students and family members can enjoy an optional showcase of the work.
What To Bring
We provide all materials (iPads, over-ear headphones, instruments, and amps). Students
may optionally bring a water bottle and a positive, curious attitude.
Optional: bring your own headphones or instrument Students are welcome to bring their own over-ear headphones (if preferred) or a small instrument they would like to sample (e.g., shaker, ukulele). Please label personal items.
Charter and Homeschool Enrollment
Production Playground is designed for homeschool and charter communities. If your
charter requires vendor documentation, we can provide a Charter Vendor Packet upon
request.
Typical charter process
• Parent requests the block through the charter’s enrichment process.
• Charter submits approval or purchase order.
• We confirm the student’s seat once approval is received.
Attendance and Makeups
Because each block is only four sessions and class size is limited, makeups may be
limited. If a student misses a class, we share the weekly goal so they can continue
progress at home.
